“I’ve already tried everything and I am still sick.”

Sadly this is a comment I hear far too often in the Lyme disease world. Antibiotics, Herbal antimicrobials, supplements, diets, ozone, IV’s, stem cells, various injections, steroids, detoxing, mold protocols, heavy metal protocols, etc. The list goes on and on. This is the difficult reality of so many of us who have suffered with long term lyme disease. For many of us, we didn’t even know we had Lyme disease for many years. We suspected it but had negative test results and were told by our doctors that they couldn’t find anything wrong with us! Then, by chance, or after much persistence and money spent on our part  we get the long awaited diagnosis that we always suspected was there. But then we realize that finding someone who knows how to truly get us well is a whole new problem. The whole journey can become an expensive long nightmare.

By the time I got myself into remission from 15 years of active Lyme disease illness, I had developed a calling and a passion to help others out of this deep dark hole that I had lived in for so long. I took my RN license and 30 years of medical experience and went back to school! I studied for three additional years in the Uprooting Lyme Clinic in The Hudson Valley of New York near NYC, a hot bed of Lyme disease. There I learned the beauty and power of herbals and holistic treatment for those like myself who had Lyme, and multiple autoimmune diagnoses. Never did I believe that natural medicines would actually work better and restore true healing to my body and that of thousands of others until I saw it, and lived it for myself.

Today I am seeing hundreds of clients in my own office in Norwood Ohio where I teach people how to address root causes of chronic inflammation and take action steps to heal themselves.

Step one is identification of things that are interfering with true healing. Every day I help people identify which roadblock they have been facing. For many it is environmental toxins, or mold , for some it is Borrelia and its co-infections itself, and sometimes its parasites. We then figure out where to start, and gently, effectively start peeling off layers of illness so that we can keep moving forward. Along the way we address distressing symptoms to help them stay on track.

When autoimmune illness is involved, detoxification and diet will be critical to success. The beauty of effective healing from Chronic Lyme disease is that it works for those with autoimmune diseases too. Removing interferences for healing is always a step in the right direction – when you do this, your body will simply heal itself. It may take a number of months to start feeling better, but I have learned to avoid the “get worse before you get better” nightmare.

When Mast Cell Activation Syndrome is involved, clients get particularly fearful and hopeless. Thankfully with the help and guidance of my colleagues I have learned to help people move past Mast Cell Activation and slowly make steps forward in their healing. I will blog more about this in coming articles but for now suffice it to say that this is not a hopeless roadblock. So in the end there is always a solution for those of us who have become disillusioned and hopeless. Living, breathing and working daily in this space I am so thankful I am continually learning and finding new tools for every situation. There is always a way! So Finding Hope is the key. Digging deeper into your strength and faith than you’ve ever dug before and never giving up is vital. Lyme disease, Autoimmune illness and the myriad of symptoms you are facing is not an impassible roadblock, though it may feel that way. Please don’t ever give up. Your body DOES want to heal and it will when the interferences to healing are dealt with —
